Using Intrigue and Romance to Increase Attendance for a Grand Opening

When it was time to make a big splash in the community with a Grand Opening, Standard Pacific Homes called on MLB Creative. The big question: How to rise above the clutter of thousands of home developments and create a must-attend event and invitation to cement the impression of Alaqua in the minds of luxury home shoppers. The answer: Invite the area’s elite to the party of the year and don’t tell them where or who was hosting. No, really, that’s what we did. And it worked.

We created a sexy sheer envelope in white and gray with an invitation to a “white party”. A coordinating poetic landing page in black and white continued the exclusivity and intrigue with a nicely programmed question and answer format to tease the recipient further. RSVPs poured in, exceeding attendance estimates by 450. The location was kept secret until two days prior to the event. Entertainment, ambiance and a who’s who guest list arrived elegantly dressed in white. This was truly a night to remember. And homes were sold.
